SUMMARY:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Nurse to cover the needs of all the schools across the district with a primary location at the Woodville Elementary. This position is for 5 full days per week position
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in MA
- DESE license as a School Nurse highly preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is highly desirable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive health care to students including first aid and emergency care.
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for vision hearing and developmental issues.
- Develop and implement individual health care plans for students with special medical needs.
- Monitor and manage communicable diseases following public health guidelines.
- Maintain student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Educate students staff and parents on health-related topics and promote wellness programs.
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to address student health concerns.
- Participate in the development of school health policies and procedures.
- Ensure the schools health office is well-equipped and maintained.
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers and community resources for student referrals.
