About the Role
As the Activities Director you will design and oversee a diverse range of social educational and recreational programs that support the cognitive physical and emotional well-being of our independent living residents. You will lead a team of support staff volunteers and drivers while collaborating closely with our Memory Support Engagement Coordinators.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all activity programs for our Independent Living residents including transportation for off-site events.
- Prepare resident activity assessments to tailor programs to their interests.
- Supervise activities support staff drivers and volunteers.
- Design monthly newsletters and calendars for Independent Living.
- Plan and promote community events seminars and special celebrations.
- Ensure the safe and efficient use of spaces equipment and transportation.
- Maintain budget oversight and track department expenditures.
- Keep our residents informed and engaged through posters bulletin boards and digital communications.
- Serve as a shining example of the values and mission of Fellowship Square.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred (experience in senior care may substitute).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with senior activities.
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Compassionate energetic and self-directed.
- Tech-savvy and capable of using basic design or word processing software for newsletters/calendars.
- Must be able to read write and speak English fluently.
- A valid drivers license and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
