We are currently seeking an individual to join the team as Behavioural Science and Research Lead.

TheBehavioural Science and ResearchLeadwill preferably need a strong educational background and a proventrack recordof translating theory into practical impactful business solutions.

The role is very much about strategic delivery and making an impact on business priorities.

In this role youll:

  • Contribute toresearchto evaluate effectiveness andopportunitiesfor improvement within people processes and practices (e.g. performance management leadership developmentsuccession planning)toshape strategy improve utility and ensurealignmentwith HSBC priorities
  • Conductprimaryresearchsecondaryliterature reviews and stay abreast of latest academic a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytic technique including digital innovations and AI to maximise impact
  • Act asinternal subject matter expertson behaviouralscience providing advice and insights to PG&C and business leaders on human behaviours and decision-making with the organisation
  • Support with the preparation of materials briefings and updates for key stakeholder meetings senior briefings etc
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design and run controlled experiments to test the impact of interventions on employee behaviour and improve organisational outcomes
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary projects that are led by the team and the wider PG&C function
  • Translate complex research findings into clear actionable insights and compelling narratives for diverse audiences

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Expertise in applying research theories and methodologies from qualitative and quantitative experimental design and enhanced data analysis to business challenges requiring systems thinking
  • Strong knowledge of psychological and behavioural science models and principles (e.g. individual differences systems thinking motivation culture and climate choice architecture biases heuristics social norms) and their application in an organisational context
  • Ability to connect behavioural science insights to tangible business outcomes and strategic goals
  • A post-graduate qualification in a relevant field such as Behavioural Economics Organisation Psychology Industrial-Organisational Psychology or a related discipline or qualified by experience
  • Professional experience in applying behavioural science or psychology in a complex high stakes environment.
  • Experience in financial services and/or dealing with Regulators is an advantage
