The Team
The Health Professions and Occupations Regulatory Oversight Office (the Oversight Office) is an independent Office dedicated to overseeing health professional regulatory colleges to enhance accountability transparency and accessibility in the public interest. As a medium-sized office with approximately 20 full-time staff this position provides an opportunity to work closely with a smaller team on day-to-day and long-term projects. The Role
Reporting to the Director of Board Appointments and Designation Assessments this role provides the opportunity to gain experience and grow skills in public policy research and this role you will independently manage assigned projects by conducting research analysis engagement and develop various documents such as briefing materials draft policy and reports. Working with the Board Appointments and Designation Assessments team you will lead project components to assess health service delivery and risk of harm to the public to support the development of evidence-based recommendations on the regulation of health professions and health occupations in the addition you will work collaboratively with other team members on processes relating to appointment recommendations of board members to B.C.s health professional regulatory colleges as well as other policy areas within the Oversight Offices mandate.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Recent graduation (within the last 12 months) from a post-secondary university orcollege with a graduate or undergraduate degree in a relevant area (e.g. public policyeconomics political science health policy and administration or others)
- A minimum of 1 year experience conducting public policy analysis or research
- A passion for public health policy regulatory policy and research

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 05/01/2027.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Health Offices: Vancouver Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
