The University of Washington Medical Center Northwest Radiology - Breast Imaging Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Specialist Mammography Imaging Technologist.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part-Time / 20 Hours Per Week

  • Day Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Perform screening mammography and both routine and complex diagnostic imaging accurately independently and efficiently

  • This includes advanced or complex exams and breast ultrasound

  • Assist the radiologist with Ultrasound biopsies and Mammography and Ultrasound Guided localization procedures

Radiology at UWMC-Northwest is equipped with the advanced diagnostic imaging technology available. Our board-certified radiologists have specialty training in cardiac imaging neuroimaging musculoskeletal interventional radiology nuclear medicine and body and breast imaging. Along with our team of expert imaging technologists they are committed to diagnosing illnesses and injuries quickly and effectively so treatment can begin.

We take time and attention with each patient to explain procedures so theyll know what to expect every step of the way.

Radiology Services at UW Medical Center - Northwest offers routine radiology magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) computed tomography (CT) ultrasound nuclear medicine and interventional radiology.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and be able to independently operate and practice proper use of mammography and ultrasound equipment

  • Troubleshoot minor problems with mammography and US equipment and report equipment malfunctions to supervisor or appropriate service

  • Practice proper aseptic techniques following use of all equipment

  • Choose appropriate patient from work list or enters required patient information to maintain accurate permanent record of test results

  • Evaluate new prototype equipment and maintains confidentiality of proprietary information

  • Have knowledge of EPIC and PACS to perform daily duties

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

OR

equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT

Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.

Registered by ARRT as a Mammography Technologist (ARRT(R)(M) Mammography certification)

DESIRED

  • Breast Ultrasound training and CEs within 1 year of hire and certification within 1 year of completion of training/CEs. Upon certification employee will be moved into the Specials Mammographer and Breast Ultrasound Technologist job code

  • BLS CPR trained

  • Completes ARRT CMEs as required and demonstrates current 15 credits in Mammography to meet MQSA requirements
