We are seeking a Material Handling Intern to join our team supporting the E3 Program at NAS Patuxent River. This is a parttime oncall onsite internship designed for a recent high school graduate who is interested in gaining handson experience in an aviation test and evaluation program while building foundational workplace and technical support skills. Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River MD is home to the Navys premier Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) capabilities including stateoftheart facilities used to test aircraft and systems against electromagnetic interference highintensity radiated fields lightning and electromagnetic pulse environments. These capabilities support critical aviation programs and ensure operational performance in complex radio frequency environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The role provides exposure to how logistics facilities and operational support functions contribute to largescale aviation testing efforts with opportunities to learn from experienced team members across the program.
- Performs entrylevel material handling and general labor duties under supervision while receiving onthejob training. Tasks support daytoday operations that enable aircraft and systems testing activities.
- Assisting with general facility cleanup and organization
- Supporting the movement staging and organization of test equipment
- Receiving deliveries and routing materials to appropriate storage or work areas
- Unpacking shelving and placing items in designated storage locations
- Assisting with equipment room organization and material accountability
- Transporting materials by hand or with hand trucks or carts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma
- Experience: This is an entry level position. 0 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
This is an SCA position. Pay rate: $17.37/HR.
Contingencies: This position is contingent upon successful high school graduation and the ability to obtain the required security clearance.
