Our organisation
Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) provides a Joint headquarters to plan prepare and conduct operations to support NATOs core tasks at the Joint Operational level as directed by SACEUR.
The Support Directorate is responsible for planning directing monitoring assessing and coordinating Support staff functions.
The J4 Division is responsible for the operational level logistics requirements for the Joint Task Force Headquarters (JTF HQ) and assigned Areas of Interest.
The Logistics Operations & Plans Branch assesses logistics capabilities and constraints during operations and exercises and supports JFC HQ planning process by developing logistics concepts.
The incumbent is responsible for the execution and assessment of multinational joint logistics in all JTF HQs activities and provides the necessary multimodal sustainment and movement expertise.
The main duties of Staff Officer (Multimodal Movement Operations) are to:
Support the work of J4 Divisions Future Operations Section (FUOPS).
Assist and advise FUOPS Section Head with the assessment of future operations logistical capabilities and constraints evaluate impact on future operations and exercises to include logistic services fuel operations Host Nation Support (HNS) and training.
Support all logistics Movement and Transportation (M&T) matters and the development of M&T doctrine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Operating Instructions (SOI).
Support all JFCBS HQ mid and long-term multi-domain logistics functional planning.
Establish relationships with Joint Support and Enabling Commend (JSEC) Joint Logistics Support Group (JLSG) Component Commands/Sub Commands and national logistics representatives in order to assess future operations logistical capabilities and constraints in support of Regional Plan Centre (RP-C) Logistics requirements.
Support the development and understanding of nations capabilities and capacities that define their respective Host Nation Support (HNS) contributions to the Reinforcement and Sustainment Network (RSN) and Joint Logistics Support Network (JLSN).
As directed support and develop operational military vision documents strategic initiatives think-pieces and non-papers JLSN operations plans operational policies concepts and directives for the full range of Alliance missions.
Conduct coordination meetings with key external planning agents including amongst others subordinate commands NATO and Partner Nations and the EU Military Staff in order to establish procedures to enable the JLSN in the JTFs Area of Responsibility (AOR) and to coordinate it with the other JTFs JLSNs to support Regional Plan (RP) development Deterrence and Defence of Euro Atlantic Area (DDA) activities and other NATO operations exercises and activities.
Maintain and adjust requirements of the JLSN to the concept of Collective Logistics and support the NATO Force Model including the Allied Reaction Force (ARF).
Develop and prepare background papers/talking points and conduct briefings to include briefings to the JFCBS Command Group (CG).
Support enablement activities of the JLSN including identification of transit zones for large-scale forces and mobility corridors connecting NATO nations. Identify Transit Nation (TN) and Host Nation (HN) capabilities within the JTFs AOR and in coordination with other JTF.
Identify and coordinate reception zones connecting sea lines of communication to land mobility corridors and launch zones for combat ready forces before final deployment.
Understand and support development of NATO stockpiling requirements.
The incumbent may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises and/or TDY assignments both within and outside of NATO boundaries. Such operational deployment may be on short notice and exceed 30 days duration up to 183 days in any 547-day period. For NATO International Civilian Staff acceptance of an employment contract linked to this post constitutes agreement to deploy in excess of 30 days if required.
Required Qualifications are:
Ø English good NATO Standard Language Proficiency 3333
(Listening Speaking Reading and Writing) in accordance with NATO standard agreement (STANAG) 6001.
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
Ø University Degree or equivalent in logistics transportation or related field / discipline.
(equivalentis Higher Secondary Education AND completed advanced vocational training in relevant field leading to a professional certification or accreditation).
Ø Minimum 4 years professional experience in multifunctional logistics.
Ø Minimum 3 years experience managing logistics processes in a large multinational organization.
Ø Proven knowledge of doctrine standards and procedures related to the principles and provisions of logistics within a large international organization.
Ø Experience in logistic planning and execution in an operational environment.
Desirable Qualifications are:
Ø Experience within a project and program management role.
Ø Experience leading diverse cross-functional teams.
Ø Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
