We are looking for an experienced Site Carpenter to join our workforce housing projects team in Calgary. This is a full-time temporary assignment for 11-12 months.

Job Responsibilities:
Build house framework walls roof exterior and interior finishes
Install doors windows flooring cabinets stairs handrails paneling molding and ceiling tiles
Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
Read and interpret drawings.
Select materials plan sequences and methods of work and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
Cut and shape materials and join them with nails screws bolts or glue.
Check completed units to ensure they are level square plumb and in the right size shape and location.
Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
5 years of carpentry experience in a commercial or industrial construction setting; modular construction experience is considered an asset
Safety-conscious with a proven track record of following safe work practices
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and working with diverse construction materials
Effective communicator and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
