Job Summary
The Air Conditioning Lead is responsible for leading the installation maintenance and repair of HVAC systems across a large campus ensuring reliable operation of air conditioning and ventilation systems that support occupant comfort and mission-critical environments. This role provides hands-on technical leadership coordinates daily work activities and serves as a subject matter expert for complex HVAC systems including chillers air handlers VAV systems and associated components.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily activities of HVAC technicians performing maintenance and repairs on air conditioning systems. Maintain and repair the heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration equipment on campus. Provide technical capability in troubleshooting energy management control system and other electronic controls. Use EMCS to diagnose building problems and make necessary adjustments in control strategies. Process work order and EPA paperwork as required. Ensure proper Freon disposal and adherence to state disposal codes. Order parts as needed for repairs. Recommend alternations/modifications to work order schedules and equipment selections Oversee AC mechanics Is IIs and IIIs work performance. Coordinate with contractors on projects. Coordinate with other trades contractors and campus stakeholders to complete work efficiently. Train and mentor HVAC technicians and apprentices. Assist with central plant coordination as it relates to airside systems and cooling delivery. Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or vocational school certificate with special courses in electricity plumbing or air conditioning or equivalent. Five (5) years of advanced journeyman or masters level experience in the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems. Experience and working knowledge with an energy management system preferably Siemens Apogee and Niagara/Tridium. Current EPA universal refrigerant certification or must obtain certification within six (6) months of hire. This position requires you to have and maintain a Texas Class C Operators Drivers License and three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or higher degree preferred. Must be accurate in all phases of work performed.

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
