JOB DESCRIPTION:To maintain the effective and efficient operation of the before-school and after-school programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in education preferred. Child development recreation or related field experience. Two years experience with school-age children in a group setting. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to relate to staff parents and children in a positive manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan organize and direct the work of the programs employees including regular staff meetings.
- Keep effective records of income and expenditures of program funds to keep within budgetary constraints.
- Provide accurate and timely information on the program as requested.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required by the DES and CACFP. Design plan and direct the activities of the children in the program assisted by the program staff.
- Interact with parents in a constructive supportive way keeping them informed of program policies changes and events.
- Interact with school staff to coordinate the needs of the programs with the needs of the on-site school and of the District.
- Encourage professional growth activities for program staff.
- Maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
- Maintain a reference library for use by staff and parents.
- Maintain equipment in safe working order arranging for repairs or replacement when needed.
- Participate in staff hiring and evaluation process.
- Assume teaching duties as needed.
- Maintain a referral system for families with special needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY:Nine-month year beginning salary Level 29 employee benefits in accordance with Board Policies.
EVALUATION:Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
