Job Summary

Summary of the Position

The Inventory Technician is integral to ensuring smooth operation of all logistical activities. Responsibilities include minor facility maintenance equipment check-in basic mechanical duties and maintaining the overall appearance of the equipment yard. Additionally the role follows and retrieves (chases) CDL drivers delivering equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Chase CDL Drivers using a company vehicle within BEST Equipments territories.
  • Clean machines to maintain a neat appearance and arrange equipment in the yard according to classification.
  • Perform minor facility maintenance and upkeep to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
  • Conduct equipment check-in procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Keep the equipment yard and wash bay organized and professional-looking at all times.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for servicing and repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in equipment staging areas.
  • Perform light mechanical duties such as jump starting trucks changing batteries and installing GPS units.
  • 50% travel required with occasional overnight stays (5% of the time).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Entry-level position; prior experience with technical or farming equipment is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is necessary.
  • High school education with technical training is preferred.
  • Clean driving record
