Position Overview
GDEVseeksto hire a Pre-MBA Associate to join its investment team in New York City. The role offers exposure to allfacetsof the investment process including sourcing structuring due diligence financial analysis and legal addition to supporting new investments the individual will work closely with portfolio companies to shape strategy and drive value creation throughout the investment period. The candidate will have the opportunity to join the group at an early stage and will be expected to grow quickly into a senior member of the team capable of leading and managing complex transactions.
What You Will Do at GDEV
- Screen new investment opportunities across multiple geographies and technologies within the sustainable infrastructure industry
- Build and evaluate complex financial models
- Conduct corporate and asset-level due diligence for new investment opportunities
- Prepare investment memoranda and other documents for GDEVs senior management team and investment committees
- Monitor portfolio investments including frequent communication with management teams and review of periodic reporting materials
- Support and execute asset and corporate-level M&A and exit processes
- Raise third-party capital for portfolio companies at the project or corporate level
- Maintain and update valuation models for GDEVs quarterly valuation process and other internal analysis and administrative tasks
- Interact with third parties such as external counsel lenders the fund administrator fund/transaction counsel and other service providers
RequirementsWhat You Will Bring to GDEV
- Bachelors degree from a top-tier accredited four-year college or university
- 24 years experience in private equity investment banking infrastructure investing renewable energy development and/or project finance
- Industry experience in real assets / industrials with preference for expertise specifically in power and renewable energy
- Advanced Excel knowledge and ability to build and understand complex financial models
- Proficiency reviewing and understanding legal contracts
- Sound judgment: ability to assess risk-adjusted returns synthesize complex information and make investment recommendations often with incomplete data
- Strong written and verbal communication: ability to distill complex financial and operational analysis into clear compelling investment narratives for senior stakeholders
- Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial drive: passion for the energy transition and a builders mentality suited to a fast-growing platform

GDEV provides a competitive compensation and benefits package. Base Annual Salary range information serves as a general guideline. The base annual salary range for this position in the New York City Metro Area is $135000 to $ 160000. Individual base annual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and geography.
