Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Buyer 2 to join our team in either Farmington Hills MI or Franklin TN.

In this role you will coordinate and negotiate with purchasing and cross-functional teams for model activities to purchase parts and services for NNA (Nissan North America) including the Smyrna TN and Canton MS plants.

You will also ensure suppliers meet Nissans quality cost and delivery addition youll resolve supply issues and support daily business operations.

A Day in the Life:

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support business objectives.

  • Lead Purchasing Project Management (PPM) for minor and major model changes.

  • Ensure project schedules from Project Management Office (PMO) and Vehicle Project Management (VPM) allow sufficient time for purchasing activities.

  • Assign purchasing team members for RFQ activities.

  • Communicate key milestone dates and RFQ due dates to purchasing teams.

  • Coordinate technical and cost estimation details for RFQs.

  • Escalate issues to management when milestones are at risk.

  • Educate and facilitate purchasing teams through model change milestones.

  • Manage cost activity and conduct analysis using systems like DCW CPL E2E GTOP SAP.

  • Foster relationships with project PDT members and cross-functional teams.

Who Were Looking for:

Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing plus a Bachelors degree.

  • Proficient in MS Excel MS PowerPoint and applications like E2E GTOP G2B and/or SAP.

  • Project management skills to manage timelines and keep teams on track.

  • Ability to work on-site in Franklin TN or Farmington Hills MI.

  • Ability to attend in-person and virtual meetings including some night meetings with Japan.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% locally.

  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.

  • Self-starter proactive and positive attitude.

  • Excellent communication negotiation and cost analysis skills.

  • Technical knowledge of vehicle and component parts and assembly processes.

  • Commodity and market knowledge.
