Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is currently seeking applications for the position of Urology Surgical Registrar to join our dynamic surgical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated doctor to gain valuable experience within a leading private healthcare environment supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in Urology Surgery.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Consultant Urology team in the assessment treatment and ongoing management of surgical patients. The role involves ward-based care theatre participation patient reviews emergency response and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Consultants in the delivery of Urology Surgical services
- Assess review and manage surgical patients
- Conduct post-operative patient reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in daily Consultant rounds and clinical handovers
- Assist in theatre sessions as rostered
- Perform clinical procedures as required
- Prescribe medications in line with hospital policy and Consultant direction
- Respond to medical and surgical emergencies throughout the hospital
- Ensure informed consent and patient records are completed appropriately
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support quality patient outcomes
- Participate in roster coordination alongside the Medical Manpower Manager
- Comply with all hospital policies procedures and clinical governance standards
Essential Criteria
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Current registration with the Irish Medical Council
- Current ACLS certification
- Previous experience working at Registrar level in an acute hospital setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery
Desirable Criteria
- Previous General Urology experience
- Experience assisting in robotic urology surgery
