Position Description:
CGI is a European leader in Space Ground Segment systems and services in the domains of Earth Observation Navigation Satellite Communications Space Safety and Mission Operations. We provide critical services and solutions to European & national agencies and institutions the scientific community the commercial sector as well as to the wider public. Secure systems depend on how they are built and operated. At CGI we integrate security into modern development and operational practices across complex space systems with a strong focus on the space ground segment.
As an Experienced DevSecOps Engineer SPACE (m/f/d) you combine strong hands-on expertise with the ability to take ownership of implementation topics and guide less experienced colleagues. You act as a bridge between security architecture and hands-on delivery within CI/CD pipelines cloud platforms and container-based environments.
You remain close to the technology while structuring work reviewing results and ensuring high-quality implementation. At the same time you take responsibility for driving technical topics forward within project teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Design implement and operate security controls within CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
- Integrate automated security checks (e.g. SAST DAST dependency scanning) into build and deployment processes
- Analyse vulnerabilities and security incidents and implement effective mitigation measures
- Translate security architecture and requirements into concrete technical implementations
- Take ownership of DevSecOps-related work packages within projects
- Guide and support junior engineers in their day-to-day technical work
- Review implementations and ensure quality and consistency of delivered solutions
- Contribute to the secure design and operation of cloud and container environments
- Collaborate with development operations and security teams to ensure end-to-end security integration
- Support the implementation of compliance requirements in technical environments (e.g. ISO 27001 BSI frameworks)
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Solid professional experience in DevOps IT security and software engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI GitHub Actions Jenkins)
- Practical experience with security tooling (e.g. SAST DAST dependency scanning)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and their security concepts
- Strong understanding of container technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)
- Ability to translate security requirements into robust technical implementations
- Experience in guiding or mentoring less experienced team members
- Structured reliable and solution-oriented way of working
- Degree in computer science IT security engineering or a comparable qualification
- Very good communication skills in English; working proficiency in German
Nice To Have
- Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments (e.g. space aerospace defence)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible)
- Experience with monitoring and security observability (e.g. SIEM logging alerting)
- Knowledge of threat modelling and secure software development practices
- Willingness and eligibility to undergo a security clearance process (subject to applicable regulations)
