Inspiring and forward-looking leaderto head the SecuritiesClearing and Settlement function including Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL). This role iscriticalpart of SGXs market infrastructure responsible for ensuring the safeefficientand resilient operation of post-trade clearing and settlement services.
Beyondday-to-dayoperational excellence the role plays a key part in shaping the future of securitiespost tradeoperations. The successful candidate will lead multiple strategic initiatives including work related to digital andtokenisedassets and in time the industry transition towards T1 settlement. The role offers broad exposure across theend-to-endsecurities value chain working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support SGXs mission as a trusted clearing house.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and manage the Securities Clearing and Settlement function providing clear strategic direction and operational oversight to ensureaccuratetimelyand resilient execution of all clearing and settlement activities.
- Oversee end-to-end post-trade processes across equities and fixed income products including SBL.
- Lead decision-making during complex time-critical situationsin a 24-hour operating environmentparticularlywhereissues and solutions are notimmediatelyapparent.
- Proactively review andenhance operational workflowscontrolsand risk mitigation measurestomaintainhigh standardsofaccuracyefficiencyand resilience.
Strategic Change & Market Evolution
- Drive and deliver multiple change initiatives in parallel including initiatives relating to digital andtokenizedassets.
- Play a leading role in preparing and executing the future transition towards T1 settlement working across systems processesrulesand market participants.
- Anticipate emergingmarkets regulatory and technology trends and proactively plan changes to systems peopleprocessesand risk frameworks to support the future state of the securities market.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across the securities value chain including Trading Clearing Depository Business Regulation Risk and Technology.
- Strengthen relationships with external stakeholders such as clearing members settlementbanksand industry participants promotingeffectivecollaborationandinformation-sharing.
- Contribute to SGX wide initiatives and outcomes through active engagement and thought leadership.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a specialized team ofapproximately 7to 10 professionalsprovidingcleardirectioncoachingandperformance oversight.
- Strengthening theteamstechnicalexpertise leadership capabilities and accountability.
- Build a cohesivemotivatedand high-performing team aligned with SGXs value and priorities fostering a culture of ownershipresilience andandcontinuous improvementefforts.
Job Requirements
- Degree holder with8 10yearsof relevantexperience insecuritiesoperations clearing settlement or related capital markets functions preferably in large or complex enterprises.
- Deepunderstanding ofequitiesand fixed incomeproducts marketpracticesand SBL.
- Strongknowledge ofclearing and settlementsystemsmarket infrastructure workflowsregulatoryrequirements applicable to post-trade operations.
- Proven experience leading operational teams in time-critical high-volume environments.
- Demonstratedtrack recordof operational excellencewithstrong attention to detailaccountabilityand risk awareness.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability tooperateeffectively in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability toarticulatecomplex conceptsclearly and engage a broad range of stakeholders.
- Self-motivatedresilientand adaptable withstrongsense of ownership and a can-do mindset.
- Proficientin MS Word PowerPoint Excel familiarity withVBAand/orPython is an advantage.
