Overview
AtkinsRéalis provides drainage design services to Highway Local Transport Rail Private Developer Energy and Water markets with some of our key clients being HS2 Highways England and Network Rail along with many of the UKs water opportunity has become available foraDrainageDesignor Surface Water ManagementSpecialist to join our Birmingham teamand be part of delivering our diverse portfolio of projects both nationally and increasingly are looking for a strong collaboratorwhocansupport the teamindelivering on projects as part of our national Practice.
The Individual:
The successful candidate shalldemonstratea comprehensive knowledge of the drainage sector excellent technical skillsacross a range of markets. You willbe requiredto undertake a key role in the design ofsustainabledrainagesystemsforInfrastructureandTransportation projectsandwillbe responsibleforsupporting the leadershipteam in thedevelopment of our capabilityand market offering.
Your role
- Leading the drainage designdeliveryforour stand-alone projectsandoften as part of larger multi-disciplinary schemes.
- Drainage designfrom concept to detailed design; duringconstruction would beanadvantagebut is not essential.
- A familiar and extensive useof digitalsoftwaresolutions in drainage designunderpinned bysound engineering knowledge.
- Workingwithin the BIM environment including but not limited to 3D modelling and Common Data Environments.
- Overseeing andcheckingthe production of drainage designs modelscalculationsand drawings to relevant standardsand contributing totechnical assurance of designs.
- Ensuring compliance with business management standards for qualitysafetyand environment.
- Managing and developing stakeholder relationships to support the development of the drainage designwithin theUK regulatory framework.
- Determiningand assigning drainage design tasks and managing delivery to programme and budget.
- Providing technical input to the preparation of bids and preparation of fee proposals including associated programme and risk considerations.
- Supporting development ofmore junior members of a team.
- Positive outlook with excellent interpersonalverbaland written communication skills.
- Demonstrabletrack recordof technical achievement and client satisfaction.
- An ability to work both independently as well as within a larger multi-disciplinary team.
- Capable of building andmaintainingstrong relationships with internal staff and external Clients.
- Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
About you
The role will have key responsibilitiesforproject deliveryandmaintainingourtechnical reputation and will contribute to the implementation ofourbusiness strategy.
Technical Duties
- Work withourPrincipal or Senior Engineerson projects to ensure AtkinsRéalis delivers Smarter Faster and More Reliable outcomes forClients.
- Ability to actas aTechnical Leadin own rightand oversee people as part of project delivery.
- Drive the development ofprojecttechnicalsolutions andtake a substantive role in leading the production of deliverables.
- Work and interface with our project managers on budget change control and programme to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversight ofdrainageproject resource which will includemanaging the design interface with some ofour world-widedeliveryteams.
- Be an active part of our internal Technical Network community.
- Supporting digital initiatives and innovations.
Business Duties
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and policies.
- Contribute to team developmentimprovementand integration.
- Work with the graduate engineers and apprentice technicians in the team and contribute to their ongoing technical development.
- Attendinternal best practice forums andas required supportexternal profile-raisingactivities.
- Supportour Win Work activities andbidding opportunities.
