    Salary: Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience.     Required:

    • Masters degree in Counseling
    • Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider license with schoolcounselor endorsement

    OVERVIEW:

    Join Tointons Leadership Team-These dynamic and creative teachers will use pre-engineering in all facets of the Project Lead the Way curriculum. Teachers as leaders will recruit and engage diverse students with opportunities to explore careers in engineering-related fields. Staff will work to attract students to this school who are underrepresented in the field of engineering including students of color and female students.We are looking for a special kind of leaderto collaborate and contribute in building a pre-engineering program for diverse student success. You will help empower staff and students utilize their individual strengths and confidence in this exciting endeavor.

    Project Lead the Way Curriculum (PLTW)-This engineering pathway empowers students to become confident independent learners through scaffolded hands-on-activities projects and problems. PreK-5 embark on their pathway experience with activities like planning a rescue mission for a trapped zoo grades 6-8 they take on increasingly complex challenges like designing a home from a reclaimed shipping container.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary/Objective: Lead for the development and implementation of a robust high school MTSS program. Facilitate and support staff learning around the MTSS model tiered interventions awareness of early warning system indicators de-escalation strategies and a common vocabulary in working with students on grades attendance behavior and college-going aspirations. Support small student groups and advisory classes in facilitation and creation of lessons that support the MTSS program to be implemented across the school in supporting student academic and social/emotional growth. Applicants must have the ability to relate to and work with young adolescents and must be willing to work collaboratively with a school team. Extra duties may include providing counseling advising tutoring mentoring family involvement activities career education programs and activities post-secondary information workshops and college campus visits.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Develop and lead the Multi-Tiered System of Support program provide professional development to staff teachers and principals ensuring the implementation and build capacity of other staff to lead the MTSS program.
    • Assists students in orientation to school procedures and academic opportunities.
    • Awareness of high quality evidenced-based instruction intervention and assessment practices.
    • Encourages students to participate in school and community activities.
    • Analyze student and school data to support the MTSS framework.
    • Mediates conflicts with students and works with small student groups and advisory classes.
    • Awareness of Early Warning System Indicators.
    • Confers collaborates and consults with parents teachers colleagues administrators and community professionals to help students and families.
    • Completes suicide threat assessments and safety plans for students involved in violent situations.
    • Serves as student advocates to help students and families respond to life events.
    • Provide students with information about education opportunities financial aid career exploration motivation and self-awareness through workshops and individual counseling advising and mentoring.
    • Provide support for grant expectations goals objectives and activities in accordance with state and federal law.
    • Maintain timely and accurate records of attendance program participation grades enrollment information notes files and any other program related data and assist with the decision-making process analyzing/evaluating data.
    • Participate in staff meetings team building and development sessions professional development opportunities school faculty meetings and district/department meetings.
    • Develop and maintain relationships and networks with college partners counselors tutors and student support services business partners GEAR UP professionals etc.
    • Provide information and referrals of community and educational resources.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Proficiency in using data to make decisions
