Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist provides the administration of occupational/hand therapy services/procedures according to clinic policies and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- ESSENTIAL

Evaluates patients utilizing appropriate tests and measurements to determine the occupational therapy problem/level of function and the recommended treatment/discharge plan.
Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical psychosocial and developmental needs for neonatal pediatric adult and geriatric patient.
Establishes occupational therapy interventions based upon the evaluation and examination physician orders and patients goals for therapy.
Competently performs appropriate occupational therapy techniques and procedures.
Provides for continuity of patient care through written and verbal communication with other health care professionals.
Makes recommendations for needed patient care equipment prior to patient discharge and assists with acquisition of same as appropriate.
Documents findings patient progress and all procedures performed within established time frames.
Submits all patient billing at the end of each day.
Instructs patients/family members in home programs.
Demonstrates effective time management.
Complies with quality improvement standards.
Participates in organizational committees as assigned.
Participates in assigned aspects of affiliated OT/OTA student training.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- NON-ESSENTIAL/OTHER
OSHA Category I: Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood fluid and tissue.
Additional:
There is occupational risk of exposure to TB.
Risk of exposure to injury while transferring/safeguarding the patient exists.
Risk of electric shock exists in the use of electronic equipment.
Works prescheduled and/or voluntary weekends
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy
Current occupational therapy license in the state in which they practice
Hand Therapy Certification preferred
Current CPR certification
