IT Senior Project Manager V – AMI 2.0 Program

Position Overview

The IT Senior Project Manager for the AMI 2.0 Program will lead all phases of the project lifecycle and system integrator engagement activities including pre-planning planning execution monitoring and closure for a major Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiative.

This role focuses on resource and task planning technical blueprinting business process design and vendor coordination within a complex IT environment. The position requires close collaboration with decision makers system owners and end users to define business financial and operational requirements while ensuring alignment with delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery across all phases of the AMI 2.0 program lifecycle
• Coordinate system integrator engagement activities
• Facilitate IT business process mapping and requirements clarification
• Develop comprehensive resource plans aligned to technical scope
• Define roles skillsets effort estimates and cost projections across workstreams:
  • Integration
  • Data
  • Infrastructure
  • Testing
• Support development and refinement of solution blueprints defining scope schedule and budget
• Integrate infrastructure components system interfaces and data flows into delivery planning
• Plan and coordinate Planning & Analyze phases
• Validate solution design and technical feasibility
• Prepare Build phase readiness activities including:
  • Environment readiness
  • Development sequencing
  • Testing strategy
  • Deployment rollout
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve system issues and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
• Execute day-to-day project management deliverables while overseeing delegated workstreams

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors degree in engineering business computer science or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience managing large IT programs or projects
• Experience with resource planning solution blueprinting implementation planning and end-to-end delivery oversight
• Experience managing large-scale IT initiatives in utilities or regulated industries
• Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 1.0 or 2.0 preferred)
• Understanding of meter-to-cash processes
• Experience with cloud migration and implementation (on-premise to cloud)
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as:
  • MDMS
  • Head-end systems
  • OMS
  • SAP
  • ADMS
• Broad IT infrastructure knowledge with ability to identify delivery gaps
• Strong communication analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership capability
• Ability to quickly integrate into large programs and deliver results efficiently
• Ability to bridge business and technical stakeholder requirements
• Experience working across both IT and business process domains
• Hands-on execution of project management deliverables

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with electric utility technology environments and strategic investment areas
• Ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
• Experience managing major data conversion initiatives involving large datasets
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables
• Background in corporate strategy strategic planning or management consulting
