Job Summary

This is on-site position Monday to Friday 8-5pm in our Fort Myers office.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding financial obligations insurance coverage and payment options
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility including commercial Workers Compensation (WC) and Auto Injury claims
Provide upfront cost estimates and explain patient financial responsibility prior to services
Manage and follow up on patient balances including collections and payment arrangements
Coordinate billing processes to ensure accurate and timely claim submission and reimbursement
Handle Workers Compensation and Auto Injury cases including claim setup authorizations and ongoing account management
Work closely with billing team to resolve claim denials underpayments and discrepancies
Maintain compliance with payer guidelines state regulations and practice policies
Document all patient interactions and financial agreements in the practice management system
Assist with financial hardship applications and payment plan administration as needed

Qualifications

Minimum 23 years of experience in medical billing collections or financial counseling preferably in an orthopedic or specialty practice
Strong knowledge of insurance verification billing processes and reimbursement methodologies
Experience with Workers Compensation and Auto Injury programs required
Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding and medical terminology preferred
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
