Job Summary

This is on-site position Monday to Friday 8-5pm in our Fort Myers office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding financial obligations insurance coverage and payment options
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility including commercial Workers Compensation (WC) and Auto Injury claims
  • Provide upfront cost estimates and explain patient financial responsibility prior to services
  • Manage and follow up on patient balances including collections and payment arrangements
  • Coordinate billing processes to ensure accurate and timely claim submission and reimbursement
  • Handle Workers Compensation and Auto Injury cases including claim setup authorizations and ongoing account management
  • Work closely with billing team to resolve claim denials underpayments and discrepancies
  • Maintain compliance with payer guidelines state regulations and practice policies
  • Document all patient interactions and financial agreements in the practice management system
  • Assist with financial hardship applications and payment plan administration as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 23 years of experience in medical billing collections or financial counseling preferably in an orthopedic or specialty practice
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification billing processes and reimbursement methodologies
  • Experience with Workers Compensation and Auto Injury programs required
  • Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding and medical terminology preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
