Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide care in a high-acuity fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience with both adult and pediatric populations and be comfortable managing critical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide rapid assessment and emergency care for critical patients
- Manage high-acuity cases including stroke sepsis trauma MI and respiratory failure
- Administer emergency medications and titrate drips
- Utilize advanced equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during emergencies and resuscitations
- Float to other units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
Clinical Skills Required:
- Experience with critical drips and medications including:
- Pressors: Levophed Epinephrine Vasopressin Dopamine Dobutamine
- Vasodilators: Cardene NTG Cleviprex
- Anti-arrhythmics: Amiodarone Cardizem Lidocaine
- Sedation: Propofol Precedex Fentanyl
- Other: Heparin Insulin TNK
- Strong emergency response and critical care skills
Requirements:
- Active New York RN License required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (including some pediatric experience)
- Travel experience required
- Certifications required:
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC (required)
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Charge Nurse experience: Highly preferred
