Job Summary
Opal Foods is currently seeking a seasoned and reliable professional to fill our Director of Operations opening.
Role Description/Summary
The purpose of this role is to plan direct and oversee egg production and egg processing complexes as assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring the operational complexes operate in a safe and efficient manure while producing quality eggs and protecting animal health. This position will supervise the Complex Managers at assigned locations and provide necessary analysis resources and guidance to members of management team. This position will also oversee assessment development implementation and ongoing work related to projects at their assigned location.

- Work with executive leadership and other Directors in determining goals and parameters needed to improve operations.
- Coach the site Complex Managers to ensure operations function in a safe and efficient manner.
- Administer operations budget
- Assess and recommend both capital expenditures and larger purchases for assigned operations.
- Ensure all locations adhere to standards and programs including worker safety animal welfare foods safety/quality and operational standard operating practices.
- Hold operations team accountable for results and celebrate team and individual successes.
- Ensure site leaders are investing in skills development of their teams including preparing individuals for next career steps.
- Constantly look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Collect and review data related to processing and production operations to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure maintenance programs are effective in reducing operational downtime.
- Must have ability to travel on a very regular basis on short notice.
- Other duties and projects as needed to support operational objectives or as assigned.
Required QualificationsEducation/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 10 plus years progressive experience in egg production egg processing or related fields.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively speak read and write in English.
Preferred QualificationsEducation/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Bachelors degree in agriculture business relevant course of study.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively speak read and write in Spanish.
