WHAT IS THE JOB
As the Vice President Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management you will serve as a key leader driving the companys continued double-digit growth trend with greater profitability. You will own the strategy and execution for all merchandise planning allocation and inventory management ensuring rigorous analysis precise forecasting and proactive decision-making to optimize sales margins and inventory turns across all brands and channels. You will set strategic directions and tactical processes for your organization building a high-performing team empowered to identify trends uncover opportunities and act decisively on emerging risks. You will champion process innovation and best-in-class reporting frameworks that bring clarity and confidence to actual and projected business performance. As a senior leader and critical cross-functional partner you will align inventory strategy with product vision and financial objectives. With your balance of analytical excellence and brand sensibility you will be a driving force behind sustainable sales and profitability growth. This position is in our Atlanta headquarters and reports into the C-suite.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set the strategy and executive oversight for all merchandise financial planning open-to-buy allocation and inventory management across all brands and sales channels
- Lead monthly and annual forecasting (Open-To-Buy) for sales gross margin and inventory translating data into executive-level insights and decisive actions to achieve or exceed financial goals
- Oversee merchandise financial planning assortment planning and the buy process including lifecycle and replenishment strategies to ensure optimal in-stock levels and inventory efficiency
- Build develop and inspire a high-performing merchandise planning and allocation organization fostering a culture of accountability analytical rigor and continuous opportunities
- Serve as an executive cross-functional partner to Merchandising Production Finance and Distribution aligning product strategies inventory flow and financial targets at an enterprise level
- Lead capacity planning and demand forecasting alignment with the Production and Distribution Center ensuring seamless inventory flow against lead times and operational capabilities
- Present strategic analysis risks and recommendations to the executive leadership team serving as the authoritative voice on inventory health and financial outlook
- Lead enterprise-wide process transformation initiatives that drive scalability and operational excellence
WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- 12 years of merchandise planning and inventory management experience in apparel with 5 years in senior leadership roles
- Proven executive leadership capability with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams through periods of growth and transformation of processes
- Exceptional analytical acumen with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive-level strategy and actionable recommendations
- Deep expertise in top-down and bottom-up financial planning with a sophisticated understanding of financial measures and how to maximize them across a multi-brand omnichannel environment
- Advanced proficiency in ERP Planning and Merchandising systems with demonstrated experience leading enterprise system implementations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the company
- A highly collaborative and relationship-driven leader with the executive presence to align cross-functional partners around shared goals
