Admissions Counselor I (International Student Focus)

Job Summary
POSITIONS PURPOSE
The International Admissions Counselor I plays a critical role in advancing Concordia University Texass international enrollment strategy by recruiting advising and enrolling international students across undergraduate and graduate populations. This position is responsible for executing recruitment and outreach efforts that support the Universitys international growth goals while providing a high-touch student-centered admissions experience.
This is a goal-driven revenue-generating position with clear expectations related to inquiry conversion application completion enrollment outcomes and international tuition revenue. The International Admissions Counselor actively manages an international recruitment pipeline and contributes directly to the Universitys enrollment growth and financial sustainability.
The International Admissions Counselor represents Concordia Texas to prospective international students families agents partners and educational organizations ensuring clear communication accurate guidance and alignment with the Universitys mission values and admissions standards.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
International Recruitment & Outreach
- Recruit and support international students across all academic populations including undergraduate graduate and online programs without assigned geographic territories or regions
- Represent Concordia Texas in virtual and in-person recruitment activities including international fairs webinars virtual info sessions and on-campus events
- Engage prospective international students and families through email phone video conferencing messaging platforms and social media
- Collaborate with marketing enrollment operations and academic partners to support international recruitment initiatives and campaigns
- Support relationships with international partners counselors and organizations as needed
Advising & Admissions Guidance
- Advise prospective international students and families on admissions requirements application processes credential evaluation English proficiency requirements and timelines
- Support students through visa-related documentation processes including issuance of I-20 or DS-2019 forms in coordination with appropriate campus offices
- Communicate financial aid scholarship opportunities tuition and payment expectations clearly to international applicants
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on institutional policies affecting international students
- Assist with top of funnel activity for all populations and connect students to the right counselor
Enrollment & Yield Support
- Actively manage an assigned international recruitment pipeline to support application completion and enrollment goals
- Provide consistent follow-up and personalized outreach to guide students through decision-making and yield processes
- Support international student onboarding and transition efforts in collaboration with campus partners
Performance & Accountability
- Meet or exceed assigned international enrollment application and conversion goals
- Track and manage recruitment activity pipeline progress and outcomes using CRM and SIS systems
- Participate in regular performance check-ins goal reviews and data-informed conversations with Admissions leadership
- Adjust outreach strategies and recruitment efforts based on performance data and market feedback
- Demonstrate consistent accountability in meeting deadlines responsiveness standards and enrollment benchmarks
Administrative & Team Support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in CRM and SIS systems
- Complete administrative tasks such as reporting territory documentation scheduling and expense reports
- Support the Senior Manager of Graduate Online and International Admissions with projects reporting and special initiatives as assigned
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Admissions Office and University enrollment goals
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES & PRINCIPLES
- Bachelors degree required or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience working with international student populations global recruitment or international education strongly preferred; experience serving multiple academic populations a plus
- Minimum of one year of admissions recruitment sales or student-facing experience
- Knowledge of international admissions processes credential evaluation and visa documentation preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students and families across cultures and time zones
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of CRM and SIS database systems or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a performance-based environment with defined goals metrics and deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
WORK SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires non-traditional work hours including evenings and weekends to support international time zones and recruitment events
- Domestic and international travel required including occasional overnight and extended travel periods
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on recruitment cycles and market needs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for recruitment materials and event support
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during recruitment events and travel
