THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

The Foundational Product Experiences (FPX) design team at Zalando is responsible for core high-impact interactions that define the customer journey such as product detail pages ratings and reviews navigation customer account accessibility and such. Our mission is to create a reliable and intuitive backbone for the platform ensuring that every user - regardless of their style or shopping intent - can have a frictionless experience.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join the this role youll play a key role in shaping and delivering a cohesive intuitive experience across different areas at Zalando - empowering our customers to explore and discover with ease.

It is a parental cover and will have a 1 year limited contract.

As a Senior Product Designer you will contribute to the Zalando Product Design community and the larger European design industry by sharing best practices mentoring and teaching colleagues crafting best-in-class solutions bar-raising in design reviews and sparking inspiring conversations.

You will get the chance to work with multidisciplinary teams product designers product managers and engineers to help shape and help bring to life remarkable customer and partner journeys.
The ideal candidate is an experienced self-led UX/UI design profile that works fluently across various tools and systems and has strong prototyping and visual design skills alongside advanced UX/UI skills.
Interest and experience in new technologies (AI) is considered a strong plus.
You possess strong collaboration and communication skills.
As a thought leader and role model you will contribute to the Zalando Product Design community and the larger European design industry by sharing best practices mentoring and teaching colleagues crafting best-in-class solutions bar-raising in design reviews and sparking inspiring conversations.

You have experience designing and delivering robust and scalable customer experiences by partnering with stakeholders engineers and other designers to develop remarkable solutions that can be re-used and adapted.
You love designing innovative technology products and place humans at the center of your design process ensuring that geeky tech and forward-looking experience design always serve real human needs.
You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of e-commerce best practices and web and app UI as well as UX patterns
You have experience working with Design Systems and scaling design solutions
You thrive in collaborative environments and can communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders engineers and other designers.
You bring a growth mindset and value experimentation youre not afraid to test bold ideas learn from data and evolve quickly.
You advocate for accessible inclusive design and are passionate about creating experiences that are intuitive for everyone.
You mentor others and raise the quality of work across the team by giving thoughtful feedback and sharing your craft.
