Job Description

Would you like to contribute to the safe use of medicines and vaccines globally We are looking for two Learning & Development specialists to join our Learning & Development section.

Since 1978 Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) has been dedicated to developing supporting and expanding the field of pharmacovigilance science and practice.

As a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre we support work around the world to examine the potential adverse effects of medicines and vaccines and contribute to safer more informed care of patients.

We are a diverse international group of pharmacists physicians data scientists system developers communicators and many other professionals motivated by a deep belief that the work we do matters.

About the role

The Learning & Development section is part of UMCs Communications & Learning department and is responsible for designing and developing online courses and overarching learning concepts. The section develops frameworks and structures to ensure alignment continuous maintenance and evaluation of learning initiatives. Through our Learning Management System (LMS) we offer courses designed for both a broad global audience and specific groups including members of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring (WHO PIDM) and users of UMC products.

We are seeking someone who can translate complex information into clear engaging and accessible learning content. You are skilled in digital learning tools instructional design principles and LMS management and you bring both structure and creativity to your work. You have the ability to develop training concepts and learning paths grounded in the needs expressed by the business areas. With a collaborative mindset and strong organisational skills you confidently manage multiple learning initiatives at the same time. You are also comfortable presenting and facilitating workshops.

You will report to the Head of Learning & Development section.

What you will do

  • Design and develop online learning modules based on best practices in instructional design and adult learning theories
  • Administer and manage the LMS including uploading courses tracking progress and generating reports
  • Provide technical support for online learning throughout course life cycles
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) when developing learning content
  • Apply instructional design principles to ensure learning content is pedagogically sound engaging and aligned with organisational goals
  • Develop and deliver standardised presentations and learning materials for cross-functional use
  • Deliver and facilitate organisation-wide face-to-face workshops and courses
