Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

In-Office Requirement: This role is an inoffice position (5 days per week) based at the downtown location. Our team is highly collaborative and much of our work benefits from inperson cocreation relationshipbuilding and handson partnership with leaders across the organization. We offer flexibility in start and end times while maintaining core business hours for shared availability across the team.

Our Strategy and Transformation Office is looking for a Manager Business Performance and Reporting. They will be responsible for all business reporting for corporate strategy KPIs including the development of KPIs management and maintenance of data and advancements in visualization tools. Responsible for leading a team of technical professionals to drive a deep analysis and decision-making culture across enterprise to achieve corporate strategy.

What will I be doing
  • Establish and implement a strategic plan for the collection management and reporting of all corporate KPI data.
  • Responsible for the development and improvement of senior management reports including KPIs performance management business meetings (Festivals) risks and issues and financial reports. This responsibility includes the development and creation of monthly reports and real-time dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Responsible for liaising with each business unit to establish reporting requirements and provide system-driven best-in-class reporting solutions.
  • Establishes and drives a KPI development program and provides advice to business units on the right KPIs to drive performance.
  • Evaluates and analyzes corporate KPI results conducting root cause drivers trend and other analysis to develop insights provide business intelligence and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Works collaboratively with business units and support teams (finance commercial risk etc.) to drive business improvement and performance through a data-driven approach.
  • Support senior leaders in developing evidence-based action plans and strategies to achieve corporate goals.
  • Develops and manages reporting policies and procedures including a data governance framework and reporting calendar.
  • Creates a working environment that is aligned with the organizations desire to be an employer of choice ensuring that people resources possess the required skills are properly aligned and are provided with the resources to do the job.
  • Provides creative thought leadership with input from others to develop and deploy a strategic reporting and business intelligence vision for the corporate strategy KPIs.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
  • Completion of a degree in Finance Information Technology Computer Science Business Administration or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of a reporting program with experience managing administrative activities/programs/services; experience in the development and management of a complex data and reporting program.
  • Knowledge of data collection and management strategies standards policies systems and best practices.
  • Knowledge of reporting and data management best practices analysis methodologies and reporting tools.
  • Strong partnership building relationship management and collaboration skills to work effectively with business units and internal and external stakeholders to collect data and resolve data quality issues.
  • Strong analytical statistical analysis and problem-solving skills to validate data quality and analyze performance results for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau or Power BI or comparable visualization tools.
  • Leadership and management skills to manage a high performing team.
  • Budget and financial management experience to manage unit budget and budget activities within budgetary limits.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to prepare and present documentation reports proposals and briefings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint) etc; knowledge of other Microsoft applications such as Apps Lists Workflows Power Automate
