What you will do
The Safety Security and Business Continuity (SSBC) department supports the success of EDP Renewables North America (EDP NA) by ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a proactive practical approach to worker safety security and operational resilience across multiple locations.
The Safety and Security Intern will support initiatives focused on human performance contractor safety oversight and risk awareness helping drive continuous improvement across EDP NA operations.
Role Overview:
This rolewillalso support the development of clear effective safety and security communications for internal and contractor audiences.
This is a paid 10-week full-time internship that will start on or around June1 2026 with an end date of August7 2026.
Main responsibilities:
Contractor Safety and Security Support
- Support contractor safety and security initiatives including review of contractor incidents trends and compliance with EDP NA requirements.
- Assist with evaluating contractor safety performance data and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support coordination between Safety Security and Operations teams related to contractor risk management.
Safety and Security Communications
- Assist with the creation and distribution of safety and security communications including safety alerts lessons learned and awareness materials.
- Support development of clear fieldfocused messaging for employees and contractors.
Additional Analysis and Support
- Conduct analysis across multiple data sources and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
- Support safety security and business continuity initiatives related to BESS operations and renewable energy projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of SSBC objectives.

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in occupational health & safety industrial engineering or in a related field or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- Understanding or familiarity with data analytics tools
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate findings effectively.
Travel:
10% might have the opportunity to visit a site location

- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak read and write English proficientlyand deliver a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written verbal diagram or schedule form
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
