Job Summary
Forecast weather conditions and produces and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear engaging and meaningful to news consumers.
Reports compelling stories using live shots stand ups and use of digital and social media platforms.
Produces weather and news content for reports for all platforms
Writes and delivers weather and news stories in a clear and concise manner
Assists in writing copy editing researching and coordinating weather and news programming and other content
Responds to breaking news and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsrooms situations as required
Works closely with the news and weather teams
Participates in promotional activities including public appearances
Writes web stories detailing the local forecast and news reports daily
Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Shifts include weekends and nights
Valid drivers license with a good driving record
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Valid drivers license with a good driving record.
Flexibility to work any shift.
Ability to meet deadlines prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
