Senior Manager Process Transfer
Job Summary
What you will do
Process Ownership & Technical Governance
Design & Standardize: Develop and refine the Transfer Playbook including SOPs and governance frameworks for moving processes from R&D to Production or between manufacturing sites.
Knowledge Transfer: Ensure the seamless migration of technical specifications Work Instructions (WIs) and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
Compliance: Ensure all transfer activities adhere to ISO GMP or industry-specific safety and quality standards.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Roadmapping: Translate business expansion goals into detailed transfer plans (Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Validation).
Resource Mapping: Manage the sequencing of equipment moves material buffers and labor requirements to prevent production downtime.
Milestone Management: Lead the transition through all phases: Initiation Equipment/Process Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Mass Production Handover.
Cross-Functional Orchestration
The Bridge: Serve as the lead liaison between Product Development Quality Assurance Supply Chain and the Shop Floor.
Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate critical Go/No-Go meetings for production starts and align leadership on risk profiles.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external equipment manufacturers and contractors to ensure machinery is installed and calibrated to spec.
Performance Tracking & Data Insights
Metric Definition: Monitor KPIs specific to transfers such as First Pass Yield (FPY) post-transfer ramp-up time and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
Dashboards: Maintain real-time visibility on transfer progress and budget utilization.
Post-Mortem Analysis: Use data from pilot runs to refine full-scale production parameters.
Technical Risk & Mitigation
Proactive Guarding: Identify technical bottlenecks (e.g. tooling lead times facility utility gaps) before they impact the critical path.
Contingency Planning: Develop Plan B scenarios for supply chain disruptions or failed validation runs to maintain customer supply.
Quality Assurance & Validation
Validation Oversight: Ensure the transferred process meets defined Capability Indices ($Cpk$ and $Ppk$).
Root Cause Analysis: Lead technical investigations if post-transfer output fails to meet the Golden Sample or legacy site standards.
Team Enablement & Change Management
Training: Bridge the skill gap by coordinating training for local operators and technicians on newly transferred technologies.
Empowerment: Foster a culture of ownership at the receiving site to ensure long-term process stability.
Systems & Automation
Tool Optimization: Leverage PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP systems to ensure data integrity during the transfer.
Digital Transformation: Identify opportunities to automate manual data collection during the validation phase.
What you will need
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or Manufacturing) Supply Chain Management or a related technical field.
Experience: 58 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Project Management with a proven track record of managing end-to-end process transfers or new product introductions (NPI).
Validation Standards: Deep understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation Operational and Performance Qualification) protocols and Process Validation frameworks.
Lean Manufacturing: Practical application of Lean principles (Value Stream Mapping Kaizen 5S) to optimize the layout and flow of the receiving site.
Stakeholder Influence: Ability to manage donor and recipient site expectations often navigating different site cultures or time zones.
Analytical Problem-Solving: A data-driven mindset capable of translating complex technical bottlenecks into actionable business decisions.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for presenting status updates to executive leadership and technical briefs to shop-floor teams.
