Job Summary
Summary of Duties
The MLT candidate will provide practical and subject matter expertise of routine and special techniques in a clinical Histotechnology laboratory. Works with medical staff management peers and internal and external users to ensure quality patient care services are maintained. Seeks opportunities to improve services throughout the quality management cycle by identifying evaluating and implementing technological enhancements and conducting workflow analysis using LEAN principles.
Qualifications/Skills
- CMLTO registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist required
- Minimum 3 years Histology working experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Experience with Immunohistochemistry and hospital experience an asset
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the team both internal or external to the department with a positive attitude
- Required to work in a dynamic busy environment with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrates sound theoretical and practical knowledge of Histotechnology with effective trouble-shooting skills
- Experience with automated and manual special stains preferred
- Application of LEAN principles and quality assurance in a clinical laboratory
- Demonstrates effective communication both written and oral
- Experience with CoPath LIS and digital pathology an asset
