THE PROGRAM

The Associate Development Program runs for 18 months and has a focus on building core banking skills youll partner with experts in in Digital Channels Product Management and Commercial Proposition both pathways you will work within the Innovation Banking Commercial Organisation to assess and meet the needs of our clients.

You can expect a significant amount of hands-on activity with the client base and product inventory that you are supporting potentially working with clients across a range of different sectors and life stages. Structured training will focus on building skills and knowledge in the following areas:

• HSBC Innovation Banking & Industry orientation business lines innovation ecosystem venture capital and private equity.
• Data Analysis
• Client need identification and insights across sectors and growth stages
• Competitor research
• Product Performance Assessments.
• Products Digital Channels Payments and Cards FX Lending and Liquidity
• Systems and processes.

Digital Channels Product Management

The Digital Channels Product Management pathway will give you exposure to supporting our Product Inventory across a range of life stages and sectors. Our teams cover the Products HSBC Innovation Banking offers to clients. You will support the relevant Product Heads across a range of tasks including performance analysis risk reviews product governance new product development and voice of the client enhancements and more. Within the Digital Channels Product Management team you will support across Online Banking Mobile Banking app and APIs across all our product verticals: Payments and Cards Liquidity Lending. You will be working closely with design change technical delivery business operations and marketing teams to deliver the product roadmap.

Commercial Proposition Development

The Commercial Proposition Development pathway will give you exposure to how HSBC Innovation Banking shapes and evolves its client offering for founders investors and scaling innovation companies across different sectors and growth stages. Working closely with frontline product teams and sector specialists you will help the business to understand client needs analyse how our solutions are used and identify opportunities to strengthen our proposition.

You will play a key role in monitoring the competitive landscape across banks fintechs and other innovation-focused providers identifying emerging trends across the innovation ecosystem and sharing insights and developments with the wider business. You will support strategic initiatives including go-to-market activity proposition narrative and enablement.

Communicate confidently in writing and verbally. You can explain complex topics simply and you may have a foundation in financial analysis including reading and interpreting financial statements.

Learn quickly and enjoy building new skills and knowledge.

Like solving problems and thinking creatively. When you dont know something youre proactive in finding the answer and dont give up easily.

Have a demonstrable interest in innovation (e.g. technology and life sciences) and in investors focused on innovative sectors.

Hold a bachelors degree (or equivalent) and may already have some relevant work experience.

Duration: 18 months

Applicants must have graduated in 2025 or be graduating in 2026.

Program begins in September 2026

Locations: London- Hybrid

Where youll be based:
Our home office in Finsbury Square London. We offer hybrid working to our employees so you can flex between home and the office with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
