Product Stewardship Specialist - Your future role

Purpose

  • Provide globally consistent hazard communication in compliance with occupational health and safety environmental and transport regulations by developing and implementing policies processes and systems. Advise management on regulatory developments related to EHS. Support appropriate business ethics in all EHS practices through training instruction and auditing. Promote the EHS data life cycle approach.
  • You will report directly to the Functional Lead Product Stewardship
  • Location: Multiple Vernier (Switzerland) Argenteuil (France) Avignon (France) or Kemptthal (Switzerland)

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret emerging scientific and regulatory developments relating to EHS requirements.
  • Provide global support for consistent and compliant product safety information.
  • Identify and assess all potential hazards and ensure hazard communication complies with existing legislation and corporate/industry guidelines.
  • Manage EHS data to ensure consistency and correctness in the SAP EHS module including data content phrases translations and rule-sets.
  • Serve as the Pure and List Substances Manager responsible for the creation data maintenance and inactivation of Pure and List substances.
  • Oversee Givaudan hazard communication tools to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistency and correctness for SAP EHS data Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Classification & Labeling (C&L) information on labels.
  • Provide expert advice to internal and external customers regarding EHS areas of expertise.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement of current and upcoming initiatives.
  • Act as point of contact for supplier issues related to chemical compliance EHS and GHS and DG classifications.
  • Support discussions on Chemical regulations to clarify compliance issues and propose solutions.
  • Be responsible for all deliverables defined by the EHS strategy.

Academic Background

  • University degree in Chemistry Biochemistry Food Chemistry or other related field

Professional Experience

  • 5 years of experience in the area of expertise particularly in product stewardship chemical safety and EHS Compliance.

Technical and Functional Skills

  • Knowledgeable in Chemical Regulations
  • Strong IT and analytical skills particularly in SAP EHS.
  • Strong understanding of hazard identification and risk management principles.
  • Fluent English proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in root cause analysis and reporting procedures.
  • Other functional skills: Interpersonal savvy with the ability to build relationships. Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence. High ethical standards and values. Effective informing and communication skills. Composure under pressure and in challenging situations. Ability to motivate others and foster teamwork. Creativity in problem-solving and innovation. Perspective to understand broader business implications. Strong business acumen with a results-driven mindset.
