Description

JD-Inverter System Validation Engineer

Be part of a team that designs develops and integrates highly complex and advanced inverter for electrical Cooling system within Garrett Advancing Motion organization. You will participate in the development and certification of product functionality across multiple programs. This will enable you to support new products processes standards or operational plans within the organizations business strategies with a direct impact on business unit/function overall results.

Drive continuous improvement and lead change in a premiere organization

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • College or Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation engineering ;

  • Develop and document detailed VFD(Variable Frequency Drives) validation test plans (DVP&R - Design Verification Plan & Report) based on product requirements industry standards (e.g. IEC UL CE) and failure mode analysis (FMEA);

  • Preferred test methodologies for inverter(VFD)-compressor matching including steady-state transient and fault condition testing;

  • Experience in

  • VFD performance mapping and efficiency .

  • Electrical Validation:Input current harmonics (THD) power factor DC bus stability EMI/EMC compliance .

  • Control Algorithm Validation:Start-up/shut-down sequences speed modulation load response thermal protection.

  • Environmental & Reliability:High/low temperature operation humidity vibration accelerated life testing (ALT) HALT/HASS

  • Safety & Fault Injection:Testing under grid anomalies (brownouts surges) compressor stall overload and short-circuit conditions

  • EOL/ATP specification for inverter production ;

  • Familiar with equipment like : Power analyzer oscilloscope insulation analyzer Current/voltage probes and others

  • Experience with industrial power electronics and the validation of this.

  • Nice-to-have: experience with the validation of embedded software
  • Electrical operating certification necessary for Lab entry .

WE VALUE:
At least 5 years experience in inverter or VFD development validation ;

  • Familiar with calibration diagnostic and measurement tools such as INCA CANalyzer CANape. Practical problem solving approach .

  • Select electrical equipment software and electronic components to develop electrical testing capabilities

  • Develop test environments control software in LabVIEWand test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems

  • Field-Simulation Testing long-term reliability testing with realistic load profiles .

POSITION ROLES

  • VFD power stage development validation plan execution and documentation .

  • Development cycle of test equipment/platforms such as Test Cells Workbenches Test Rigs etc. to satisfy electrical testing needs

  • The role demands a high degree of contact with validation engineers software engineers power electronics engineers and other design functions to deliver complex system solutions efficiently and in a timely manner.
