Jarvis Blade Sharpener

Job Summary

The Jarvis Blade Sharpener role requires basic knowledge of general maintenance Jarvis equipment operation including but not limited to; air knives scribe saws brisket saw and wizard knives.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all company GMPs safety policies and procedures.
• Setup and visually inspect and tests Jarvis machinery and equipment and tear down.
• Sharpen Jarvis & Bettcher blades.
• Listen for unusual sounds from Jarvis machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss. machine operation variations with supervisors or other personnel to diagnose problems or repair equipment.
• Replace blades for Jarvis equipment on the floor during production.
• Responding to radio calls from production teams for assistance.
• Dismantle defective Jarvis machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts bearings gears and other parts of Jarvis machinery.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to learn mechanical systems and food manufacturing processes.
• Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and execute work orders write daily reports and translate equipment manuals.
• Read write and orally communicate in English and ability to work with no or little supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime weekends and holidays as scheduled.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk or sit; use hands to finger handle or feel

objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision and color vision.

• Occasionally lift and or move up to 70 pounds.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds utilizing the buddy system or specifically designed lifting devices.
• Specific vision includes close vision distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and talk or hear.

Americas Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor carcass chillers fabrication area rendering further processing area storage coolers freezers and loading docks.
