JOB TITLE:

4-H State Office Summer Worker

JOB PURPOSE:

These positions are needed to support and promote UW Extension statewide projects and events by assisting with planning coordination communications and administrative support within the State Office. These positions are scheduled to be for 11 weeks only.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Pay: $15/hour
  • Hours: 40 hours a week
  • Dates: June 1st August 16
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Support

  • Attend and assist with major summer State 4-H events
  • Provide on-site logistical and operational assistance
  • Support staff volunteers and youth participants
  • Assist with general event operations in fast-paced environments

Program Preparation Collaboration

  • Prepare registration packets and event materials
  • Organize supplies packing lists and event resources
  • Assist with post-event organization inventory and documentation
  • Collect feedback and updating materials for future use

Office Support

  • Assist with event preparation and materials in the State Office
  • Provide inventory assistance
  • Follow through with logistical needs
  • Support multiple functions within UW Extension

Scheduled Events Include

  • Showcase Showdown (June 1518th) in Laramie WY
  • State Shoot (July 812) in Douglas WY
  • Platte River Shootout Fundraiser (July 16-18th) in Saratoga WY
  • Apache Clear Creek Shootout Fundraiser (July 31st-August 1st) in Ucross WY
  • State Fair (August 1016) in Douglas WY

Position Details:

  • Pay: $15/hour
  • Hours: 40 hours a week
  • Dates: June 1st August 16
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly dependable and organized

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight during select events
  • Valid drivers license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
  • Willingness to drive to from and during events

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with event planning
  • Office support experience
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Highly flexible and adaptable
  • Comfortable in social and high-energy environments
  • Thrives in fast-paced dynamic settings
  • Experience with event planning
