Job Description
What are the main functions of this role
o The Buyer will have existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment. The Buyer will have working knowledge of FAR DFAR and/or NASA procurement regulations price analysis and target pricing techniques as well as prior experience procuring Custom Fab-to-Print commodities.
Required Skill Sets:
o 3-5 Years ERP Experience - SAP Preferred.
o Must be able to understand/read engineering drawings and BOM structure
o Experience working with mechanical/fabricated part drawings and technical spec understanding
o Experience working in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure the organizations needs are met while managing purchasing process procedures
o Work cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering Quality Material Program Manager Planning and Accounting to meet business needs
o Experience in procurement and/or vendor contract management is preferred
o Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
o Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance with company quality standards. Work with Suppliers to resolve quality issues
o Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations
o Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving abilities
o Exhibits a high level to attention to detail
o Excellent scheduling and time management skills
o Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written self-motivated and be able to drive a process from start to finish

o Working knowledge of vendor setup PO packages T&C negotiations NDA processing Cost Savings negotiations.

o They will utilize the 2026 Purchasing Team Goals as well as the 1:1 Control Tower metrics based on their procurements deliveries trainings etc.
