We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Buyer to support daily purchasing operations in a fast-paced production environment.

This is an on-site position is seated at our DSI site in Poestenkill NY.


This role works closely with manufacturing engineering and operations teams to ensure materials and services are available on time and at the right cost. You will play a key role in maintaining supply continuity managing vendor relationships and supporting cost and quality objectives. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who understands the urgency and precision required in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders in the ERP system and coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery
  • Issue RFQs and support vendor selection based on cost quality and lead time
  • Partner with production planning to adjust order schedules and avoid supply disruptions
  • Perform basic cost analysis and support volume planning for key commodities
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to support business needs and new product introductions
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records reports and documentation
  • Monitor supplier performance related to cost quality and delivery
  • Work with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoice and delivery discrepancies
  • Support continuous improvement efforts including cost savings and process efficiency initiatives
  • Ensure clear communication of order status changes and risks to internal stakeholders

The estimated salary range allows for candidates with various levels of skills and experience to be considered as well as provides room for growth achieved within the role over time. Any offer extended to a candidate or salary increase consideration for a current employee will be based on the individuals unique set of knowledge skills education experience and geographic location as well as internal equity.


Requirements:

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 35 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes vendor management and cost control
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Organized with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Able to work under pressure and meet production-driven deadlines
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused approach
