Location: Chicago IL (3-4 days/ Week Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description

We are seeking a senior Enterprise Architect for a Health Information Systems (HIS) department within a large healthcare system. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare IT expertise knowledge of proven enterprise architecture frameworks and the ability to define technology strategies that align with clinical and business outcomes.

Must-Have Skills (Required)

10 years of experience supporting or developing enterprise technology solutions
Healthcare or hospital industry experience - mandatory focus
Enterprise Architecture Frameworks - TOGAF Azure Cloud Adoption Framework
Architecture domain expertise - application data infrastructure integration and security
Healthcare interoperability standards - FHIR HL7 X12
IT & Cybersecurity Governance - HIPAA HITRUST NIST CIS SOC ISO/IEC 27001
Cloud infrastructure and platform services - public cloud solution development
Technical knowledge - APIs middleware infrastructure/network design databases clustering virtualization IaC/configuration automation
Development knowledge - Java C# Python PowerShell - SDLC best practices
ITSM / ITIL / PMI PMBOK - IT service management and project management principles
Ability to create architectural diagrams roadmaps and blueprints
Strong stakeholder communication - executive business and technical audiences
Risk management and compliance integration into architecture and governance
Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science or related field
Must be able to be onsite at Central Campus Chicago IL within 2 hours

Good to Have (Preferred)

Large healthcare system experience - enterprise technology solution development
Value-based care economics - cost optimization and ROI understanding
Technology project management experience
Background in architecture community of practice leadership
Experience with Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies
Change management and executive influence - thought leadership capability

What Youll Do

Lead enterprise architecture across HIS: evaluate projects for alignment with standards develop architecture frameworks define technology strategies create roadmaps and blueprints ensure healthcare compliance mentor technical teams and collaborate with IT and business leaders to deliver secure interoperable and scalable healthcare technology solutions.
