Assurance Manager – Financial Institutions

FocusPoint is partnering with a well established growth oriented professional services organization to hire an Assurance Manager specializing in financial institutions. This role is ideal for a public accounting professional who thrives in client facing environments leads complex engagements with confidence and brings strong technical depth across banking related accounting and regulatory areas.

You ll oversee assurance engagements for financial institution clients guide teams strengthen client relationships and deliver insights that support accurate reporting risk management and operational improvement. • Lead assurance engagements for financial institution clients ranging from community banks to mid sized institutions.

• Oversee planning execution and delivery of audit work to ensure accuracy compliance and timeliness.

• Advise clients on complex accounting and regulatory matters including CECL loans and deposits investment securities derivatives and fair value considerations.

• Evaluate internal controls across lending deposits investments IT and regulatory compliance; recommend improvements that reduce risk and increase efficiency.

• Review workpapers financial statements and disclosures for compliance with U.S. GAAP AICPA standards and regulatory requirements.

• Manage engagement budgets staffing timelines and quality expectations.

• Serve as a primary client contact providing clear actionable insights to executive leadership and audit committees.

• Mentor and develop team members on technical topics and industry best practices.

• Support practice growth through relationship development and identification of cross service opportunities.

• Assist with onboarding new clients and engagements.

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field.

• Active CPA required.

• 5 years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on financial institutions.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP AICPA standards and regulatory reporting for banks and credit unions.

• Experience with CECL loans and deposits investment securities and fair value accounting.

• Understanding of internal controls and regulatory processes across lending deposits and investments.

• Familiarity with core banking operations including credit risk liquidity capital and asset/liability management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead engagements manage multiple priorities and mentor staff.

• Strong communication skills including comfort presenting to executives and audit committees.

• Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.

• Full time role with a hybrid schedule (2 3 days onsite per week).

• Occasional travel depending on client needs.

• Standard business hours with additional hours during peak periods.
