Job Summary
Cloud Security Architect Austin TX $83 $93/hr
About the Role
Join a forward-thinking team as a Cloud Security Architect leading the design and implementation of secure architectures for cloud-native microservices and AI-enabled systems. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing technology infrastructure and ensuring compliance with state and federal cybersecurity frameworks. This position is based in Austin TX with interviews conducted in person or via Microsoft Teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect secure-by-default solutions across cloud platforms microservices and AI-driven systems
- Conduct comprehensive threat modeling for complex distributed environments
- Champion Identity and Access Management and implement Zero Trust Architecture principles
- Evaluate user requirements perform cost/benefit analyses and automate processes to enhance security
- Integrate security controls into DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows
- Configure and optimize Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools
- Secure APIs containerized workloads and data pipelines ensuring protection of sensitive information
- Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to define security standards and best practices
- Prepare and present risk assessments to executive leadership
- Draft and update enterprise security policies and architecture standards
Required Skills and Experience
- 8 years of proven experience in information security and systems architecture
- Expert-level knowledge of Texas Cybersecurity Framework (TCF) and NIST 800-53
- Demonstrated success designing secure cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred)
- Deep expertise in IAM and Zero Trust Architecture
- Strong background in threat modeling and securing microservices APIs containers
- Hands-on experience with CSPM tools and DevSecOps integration
Preferred Skills
- Experience securing AI/LLM-based systems and data pipelines
- Proficiency in data protection for PII PHI and sensitive data
- Ability to present risk assessments to executive leadership
- Familiarity with drafting enterprise security policies and architecture standards
- Relevant certifications: CISSP CISM AWS Certified Security Engineer
