About the Role

We are looking for a self-driven AI-savvy QA Engineer who can independently own the entire quality function for our products including ArkOS our technology platform. This is not a support role within a larger QA team; you will be the single point of ownership for quality across our web applications.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in manual and automated testing combined with the ability to test AI/ML-powered features and leverage AI tools to accelerate their own testing workflows. You should be comfortable working autonomously making decisions on test strategy and scaling yourself through smart automation.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Quality Ownership

Own the complete QA lifecycle independently from test planning and strategy through execution defect management and release sign-off.
Define and maintain test plans test cases and traceability matrices without external direction.
Make autonomous go/no-go decisions on releases based on quality metrics and risk assessment.
Establish and enforce quality standards testing processes and best practices across the team.

2. AI Feature Testing

Test AI/ML-driven functionalities including LLM integrations AI-generated content chatbot interactions and recommendation engines.
Validate non-deterministic AI outputs design test strategies for prompt validation hallucination detection response quality scoring and edge-case handling.
Evaluate AI model behavior across varying inputs ensuring accuracy consistency and graceful degradation.
Test AI integration points including API contracts data pipelines and model versioning impacts.

3. AI-Powered Testing & Automation

Use AI tools (Claude ChatGPT Copilot etc.) to accelerate test case generation test data creation and exploratory testing.
Build and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Selenium Playwright Cypress pytest or equivalent in Python JavaScript Java or any preferred language.
Develop self-healing or AI-assisted test scripts that adapt to UI changes with minimal maintenance.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
Identify high-value automation opportunities and build a strategic automation roadmap.

4. Web Application & Cross-Browser Testing

Execute thorough functional regression integration and usability testing across web applications.
Validate cross-browser compatibility and responsive behavior across devices and screen sizes.

5. API & Integration Testing

Test REST APIs independently using tools like Postman curl or automated API test frameworks.
Validate third-party integrations (HubSpot ATS platforms auto-calling tools etc.) end-to-end.
Verify data integrity across integration touchpoints and system boundaries.

6. Defect Management & Reporting

Use JIRA for comprehensive defect tracking test case management and sprint-level QA reporting.
Produce clear actionable bug reports with reproduction steps severity classification and root cause analysis.
Maintain QA dashboards and quality metrics to provide visibility to stakeholders.

7. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Guide and mentor junior QA engineers and interns set clear quality standards review their work and support their growth into independent contributors.
Work closely with Developers to align on bug triage root cause analysis and shift-left testing practices.
Partner with Product Managers to understand feature requirements acceptance criteria and release priorities translating product goals into comprehensive test coverage.
Leverage JIRA efficiently to manage test plans track defects across sprints and surface quality signals to the broader team in real time.

Core Skills & Qualifications

Must Have

25 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance for web applications.
Proficiency in Python JavaScript Java or any programming language with experience in test automation frameworks (Selenium Playwright Cypress pytest Robot Framework or similar).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and own the QA function end-to-end without supervision.
Experience testing AI/ML features or a strong understanding of how to validate non-deterministic system outputs.
Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude ChatGPT Copilot) to enhance testing productivity.
Solid understanding of REST API testing and tools (Postman requests library etc.).
Proficiency with JIRA efficient use of boards epics tickets sprints and filters for defect tracking test management and agile workflows; able to surface quality metrics and trends at a glance.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions GitLab CI or similar) and integrating automated tests.
Strong analytical mindset ability to dissect complex systems identify failure modes interpret quality data and translate findings into clear actionable insights for developers product managers and leadership.
Excellent written and verbal communication ability to document clearly and communicate quality status to developers product managers and leadership.
Experience leading or mentoring junior QA engineers or interns setting quality standards reviewing test cases conducting code walkthroughs and fostering a quality-first culture within the team.

Nice to Have

Experience testing ATS (Applicant Tracking System) or HR-tech applications.
Knowledge of database testing and SQL for data validation.
ISTQB certification or equivalent.
Experience with mobile web or responsive testing frameworks.
Exposure to security testing basics (OWASP Top 10 awareness).
Experience with mobile application testing using frameworks such as Appium Maestro or Detox for native and hybrid apps.
