Job Summary

Job Title: Operations Manager
Department: Business and Operations
Reports To: Managing Director
Direct Reports: Sales Marketing Project Management Support Finance
Location: Nairobi Kenya

Job Purpose
Lead and manage the companys operations to ensure efficiency scalability and alignment with strategic objectives. Drive revenue growth and business expansion by optimizing operational processes strengthening client and partner relationships and working closely with the operations and technology teams to deliver innovative market-driven solutions. The role combines operational leadership with commercial acumen to support sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Business Operations function and daily operations across all departments ensuring effective coordination efficiency and alignment with company strategy and business goals.

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities improving existing revenue streams and supporting go-to-market strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations and cross functional teams to align product development with business needs customer requirements and market opportunities.

  • Translate business requirements into operational and technical deliverables ensuring seamless execution of products and services.

  • Develop implement and continuously improve operational processes policies and systems to support scalability and performance.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue operational efficiency and customer metrics and take corrective action where needed.

  • Provide oversight of projects to ensure delivery within scope budget and timelines.

  • Manage company budgets forecasts and cost controls to ensure financial sustainability and profitability.

  • Support and lead business development efforts including proposals presentations pricing strategies and client negotiations.

  • Build and manage strong client relationships to drive retention upselling and long-term value creation.

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships that enhance service offerings and contribute to revenue growth.

  • Oversee vendor and partner relationships ensuring optimal performance and value delivery.

  • Lead mentor and develop teams fostering accountability collaboration and high performance.

  • Identify talent and capability gaps supporting recruitment and continuous professional development.

  • Foster a culture of innovation agility and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Track and report on operational financial and commercial performance providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Prepare and present periodic performance and strategic reports to the Board providing clear insights on operations financials and growth initiatives.



Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in IT Business Finance or related field.

  • A Masters degree in IT Business Administration (MBA) Finance or a related field will be an added advantage.

  • 6 years of management experience in IT/FinTech or a startup in a similar environment.

  • Proven ability to monitor and improve company performance metrics including engineering outputs.

  • Experience in driving operational excellence and managing high-value client portfolios.

  • Strong analytical leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Expertise in business development proposals and stakeholder presentations.

  • High integrity public speaking skills and networking ability.

  • Proficiency in data analysis performance metrics and business management tools.
