Job Description
The CST Student Manager schedules coordinates and supervises the event services functions of the Centers Services Team including coordination of hiring training and performance evaluation of the student provide general coordination of event support needs in the Centers and coordinate with other building personnel to inform Centers Services Team of all necessary information. The Event Coordinator or other appropriate staff members may assign special projects.
This position reports to the University Centers Events Coordinator. They are responsible to the Student Employment Coordinator and Payroll Coordinator for the University Centers.
Specific Duties
Provide training and supervision for the Centers Services Team for event set-up basic technical equipment usage safe and effective custodial supply usage customer service and University Centers policies and procedures
Initiate and coordinate the hiring supervision scheduling training and evaluation of the Centers Services Team
Evaluate Center Services Team Members and Center Services Team Leads once per semester
Maintain personnel records on all staff which include hiring materials evaluation copies disciplinary logs and promotions
Plan and facilitate spring and fall orientation programs for Center Service Team in conjunction with Event Coordinator
Create and maintain resources including the technical support information manual event set-up and support handbook and best custodial practices documentation
Oversee the payroll process for the Center Services Team including approval of each staffs bi-weekly timecards through Workday
Delegate the tasks of routine equipment inspections maintenance inventory storage organization and assure task completion
Schedule and direct Centers Services Team meetings to review current issues upcoming and previous events new information for staff employment information and staff development
Attend monthly mandatory SuperStaff meetings held on Zoom semester orientations held in person regular trainings and other Super Staff activities as deemed by UCSEC and UCPC.
Direct a lead staff meeting that allows for critical thinking and problem solving additional training and staff development
Serve as back-up when team members are not able to cover a shift or if additional support is needed
Act as a communication link between full-time staff and the Centers Services Team
Work with Centers Administration to monitor key rings and card access for the Centers Services Team
Provide information to the Event Coordinator to assist in formulation of operating budget for the Centers Services Team
Be proficient in all Center Services Team tasks and responsibilities
Be held accountable and abide to the policies outlined in the University Centers Student Employment Handbook Student Supervisory Staff Handbook Student Manager Contract and any department specific policies procedures and expectations

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division II Range II.
Required Qualifications
Applicants for this position must demonstrate leadership skills organizational abilities possess excellent communication skills provide assistance as needed be able to work with limited or no supervision and must pass a criminal background check (only criminal activity pertaining directly to the position description will be evaluated).
Applicants should have a good knowledge of the campus University functions University Centers operations and policies.
This position typically works up to 20 hours per week. The Center Services Team Student Manager may be required to work early mornings weeknight and weekend shifts in addition to regular scheduled office hours.
Applicants should also be comfortable lifting up to 35 lbs. while on shift. The Student Manager must be able to supervise staff and work without direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
Education
The CST Student Manager must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
