Job Summary

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CTE Credential or willingness to get a CTE Credential
  • Lab focussed engaged lessons outside application science

Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities: This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:

  1. Plan implement and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculum
  2. Diagnose and prescribe learning programs for individual and groups of students based on aptitude interest and level of achievement
  3. Provide individual and small group instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds
  4. Motivate discipline and interact with students in a productive manner
  5. Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to student interests and abilities
  6. Use district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculum and instruction
  7. Develop instruction goals and objectives to meet teaching assignments
  8. Provide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testing
  9. Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades attendance anecdotal records etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress through progress monitoring
  10. Evaluate each students performance and growth in knowledge and understanding and prepares progress reports
  11. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment
  12. Instruct students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or abuse
  13. Carry out the assignments designated by the building principal
  14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  15. Effectively utilize district technology appropriately

State/District Mandated Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one
  • Fingerprinting (paid by employee)
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act
  • HIV/HBV Training (district provided)
  • Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)

Terms of Employment:

  • Work year shall be concurrent with the school calendar and bargaining agreement
