Job Summary

Responsible for the performance and reporting various technical chemical microscopic and microbiological tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment. Performs these tests in the areas of Hematology Coagulation Chemistry Bacteriology Blood Bank Serology and Urinalysis. Also responsible for but not limited to performing specimen collections routine equipment operation and maintenance/repair inventory control quality control calibration workload recording and quality assessment. Properly utilizes the LIS and all other computer programs related to patient care. Demonstrates positive customer service skills. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree in a major that meets an accreditation agencys requirements Biology Chemistry Clinical Science including6 credit hours in both Chemistry and Biology or MLT Registration (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent
Licensure:
Experience:1yearclinical laboratory experience or MLT registration with a nationally recognized registry ASCP or AMT

Preferred Certifications: MLT (ASCP/AMT ) or equivalent
