Job Summary

POSITION: Financial Assistant to Payroll

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associates Degree minimum
  2. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality as it regards school business
  3. Proactive team player
  4. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  5. Experience meeting deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
  6. Ability to perform detailed work involving written and numerical data
  7. Capable of a high level of proficiency utilizing an accounting database and Microsoft Excel
  8. Able to work independently while contributing to the entire team
  9. Well versed in oral and written communication

REPORTS TO: Business Administrator

JOB GOAL: To retrieve compile process and report accounting data concerning financial transactions of expenditures income and payroll.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Business Administrator in any departmental task required with a primary focus on payroll.

Primarily assigned to assist the Payroll Manager in preparing the biweekly payroll including:

  1. Maintain accurate and updated payroll information
  2. Process timesheets and absence reports for four (4 )school districts and the SAU9
  3. Compute and deposit payroll taxes
  4. Verify payroll deductions and remittance
  5. Produce and disseminate checks and direct deposit notices
  6. Reconciliation of payroll for audit 941s and W-2 reporting
  7. Maintain and file records to ensure a smooth annual audit
  8. In the absence of Payroll Manager process payroll.
  9. Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Financial Assistant to Payroll as directed by the Business Administrator.
  10. Performs any other relevant task that may be assigned by the Business Administrator or Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Personnel Policies for SAU #9 employees.

WORK YEAR: 260 days per year 8 hours per day

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the SAU #9 Boards policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel. The Business Administrator will be the evaluator.
