Job Description
The Department of Finance in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice dependent on qualifications and experience to teach in the financial planning and finance curriculum. The academic-year position is available beginning Fall 2026 at the Blacksburg campus.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelors or Masters degree or higher in finance financial planning business or related addition candidates must have significant professional and/or teaching experience. The candidate must be a CFP professional. Candidates must have the expertise or experience to teach courses in both the financial planning and finance curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications
CFA CPA ChFC CLU or other appropriate designations are also valued.

Additional Information
The selected candidate will teach 4 courses each semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and perform service assignments including advancing the program through partnerships with the profession donors and alumni. Occasional travel to attend professional conferences and meetings is required.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
