Job Summary
Primary Purpose Of Position
The primary purpose of the position is to design and deliver engaging hands-on science instruction that strengthens elementary and middle school students foundational science skills while building confidence and curiosity in science.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Education Elementary Education Science STEM -related field or a closely related discipline. Experience leading hands-on activities experiments or project-based learning for elementary/middle school-aged students. Prior experience with STEM camps science clubs or enrichment programs.
Preferred Years Experience Skills Training Education
Three (3) years of experience teaching and facilitating learning for students in grades 3-5 or 68 in a school camp laboratory or enrichment setting. Demonstrated familiarity with North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Science. Required Skills and Competencies: Ability to explain basic science concepts in a fun age-appropriate and engaging manner Strong classroom or group management skills in informal learning environments Enthusiasm for inquiry-based learning creativity and student exploration Ability to provide and follow safety procedures for hands-on science activities Clear communication skills and a positive supportive approach to working with students.
